Groups also overwhelmed adjacent streets and tried to enter the legislative building, where the authorities had originally scheduled the open visitation.

National Legacy and Ethnic Backing

While predominantly identified as an political challenger, Odinga served as senior minister in 2008 and also formed a political pact with Ruto last year in a career marked by shifting alliances.

He inspired passionate devotion among adherents, notably in his cultural background based in the country's west, many of whom believe he was prevented from obtaining the presidency by vote manipulation.
